Feast of St Giles

The Feast of St Giles is an opportunity not only to celebrate the dedication of our church, but also to give thanks for all those who, over generations, have sustained the life and witness of this parish. It is particularly encouraging to see our congregation continuing to grow, with increasing numbers of baptisms, weddings and confirmations, and to know that St Giles is becoming a spiritual home for so many.

I hope very much that you will be able to join us for the 11am Patronal Service, and I look forward to celebrating with you.

Our Patronal Festival will be a particularly joyful occasion this year. We will commission our new Choral Scholars and welcome back the Revd Edward McMillan, our former parish intern, now serving as Curate at Chelsea Old Church, who will preach. We will also announce the arrival of our new curate to St Giles, who will join us in the coming year.

Following the service, we will gather for our Parish Lunch, during which we will formally launch Restore St Giles. This is an ambitious programme to conserve and renew our church building, including a new roof, improved lighting and thermal efficiency, redecoration and better accessibility.

As we look towards the 300th anniversary of the present church in 2034, we have an exciting opportunity to ensure that St Giles remains a place of worship, welcome and service for generations to come.
