Bloomsbury Festival | 25-26 October

We are very excited to be hosting a series of events at St Giles as part of the Bloomsbury Festival:

  • Sing Ballads of Bloomsbury | 25 October at 6.30pm. Choirs from across the area, including members of the St Giles Choir, gather in the church to celebrate the rich singing tradition of the area and to sing a number of ballads written around St Giles and Bloomsbury.

  • Charles Dickens & St Giles | 26 October at 11.30am. Dr Cindy Shugrue of the Dickens Museum will explore the enduring fascination of the great Victorian author with the slums and characters of our local area.

  • St Giles: The Hidden Heart of London | 26 October at 1.30pm. Dr Rebecca Preston, co-author of St Giles-in-the-Fields: History of a London Parish, will talk about her research and what it tells us about the peculiar character of the parish.

  • The Creators of St Giles | 26 October at 2.45pm. Dr Wil James will lead a walking tour of the parish to discover the places where some of St Giles' most famous artists and creators once lived.
