Parish Events in May

Beating the Bounds | 5 May

Rogation Sunday this year falls on 5 May. As has been our tradition in recent years, the churchwardens will be leading a walk around the parish boundaries to "Beat the Bounds" an ancient tradition that today allows us to highlight our presence in this busy part of London. All those wishing to join in, please gather after morning worship and remember to wear comfortable footwear!

Book Launch | 11 May 2024

The launch of St Giles-in-the-Fields: History of a London Parish will be a highlight of the church calendar this month. Everyone is invited and you can find out more about the event here.

Parochial Church Meetings | 12 May 2024

Our postponed annual church meetings will take place after morning worship on 12 May. This is the time of year when we elect our churchwardens and the members of our parochial church council. We are enormously fortunate at St Giles to have such a dedicated PCC - thank you to everyone who has served over the past twelve months.

Anyone who appears on the electoral roll is welcome to stand for election to the PCC and forms can be obtained from the church office.  If you are interested in standing, please have a chat with the Rector.

St Giles Society | Dickens and St Giles with Dr Cindy Shugrue | 15 May at 7pm

In a bumper month for history buffs, the next St Giles Society event will take place on 15 May at 7pm.  We will welcome Dr Cindy Shugrue of the Charles Dickens Museum, who will speak about the influence of the St Giles neighbourhood on Dickens' writing. Please purchase your tickets here.

Time for Tea | 26 May 2024

The next monthly pre-Evensong gathering for tea, cake and good company will be on the afternoon of Sunday 26 May at 5.30pm.  Do drop in before heading to Evensong for a chance to meet others in the congregation and choir. Anyone who has recently started coming to St Giles is especially welcome!
