Our Approach

Organ Appeal

At St Giles we hear sounds from the organ that our predecessors, including Byron, Shelley and John Soane, have heard for more than three hundred years. This historic organ urgently needs sympathetic restoration

At St Giles we offer a range of services, largely traditional and based upon the Book of Common Prayer, but with occasional alternative expressions of Christian worship.

Morning and Evening Prayer are said throughout the week.

In an age when many are looking for a disciplined way of spirituality and a more reflective, meditative style of worship, St Giles has much to offer. The congregation is welcoming, supportive and friendly, and hospitality is offered after the main Sunday services. The church is open every week day for prayer (opening times) and the Vestry Room is available for private hire and is used by a range of community groups.

St Giles belongs to the Diocese of London within the Church of England, which is part of the Anglican Communion, in some countries known as the Episcopal Church. We work together with other parish churches in the deanery of Westminster and local churches of other denominations, and there are occasional ecumenical events.

St Giles has a long association with America - the second Lord Baltimore and first proprietory of Maryland is buried in the church. A memorial was inaugurated in 1996 in the presence of the US Ambassador and unveiled by the Governor of Maryland.

Our Mission
This is to seek to witness to the love of God revealed in Jesus Christ through word and deed, primarily through serving the needs of those who live and work locally and who visit the area. The church is open daily to visitors and for prayer, and the clergy are usually available to discuss matters of faith and pastoral concern.
